Biography

 

Born in 1944 in Maryland, USA.

First painting done before the age of one, decorating the wall behind the crib.

Age 15-17 summer class at The Schuler School of Fine Arts in Baltimore.

Graduated after a four year education from the The Schuler School of Fine Arts majoring in portraiture. Mary Lauritzen was a protégé under Ann D. Schuler, Fritz S. Brigs and Hans Schuler.


During Mary Lauritzen’s education at The Schuler School of Fine Arts she attended several art exhibitions where she won several awards.

 

1968-69 Attended Art Student’s League in New York, N.  Y. Majored in portraiture won first prize out of five thousand. Mary Lauritzen was a protégé under Frank Mason and majored in portraiture.

During this period Mary Lauritzen was a member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society for app. 15 years.

Mary Lauritzen has been living in Europe since the age of 25 years where she has been exhibiting and doing commissions. During this period Mary Lauritzen has sold her art in France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Denmark,  England and Japan. Currently Mary Lauritzen is residing in The Lake District, UK.
