Back in business, Leafe put four past Leyton Pennant
After
a welcome two-week break, Whyteleafe return to form with a straightforward
four-nil victory at Leyton Pennant. With a struggling Chertsey
visiting Church Road next week, Whyteleafe have a good opportunity to strengthen
their position and push for a precious top three spot.
Leafe's form takes a nose-dive
Whyteleafe are beaten easily at the "pit"
by three goals to nil by Croydon. Leafe seem to have lost their way
since losing three keys players and Lee Richardson has got his work cut
out if he think we can still push on with a promotion challenge.
Report.
Massey penalty miss costs Leafe dear
Whyteleafe exit League Cup after
dominating Maidenhead throughout this Thursday evening match. A late penalty
should have sealed it when Steve Lunn was tripped inside the box but Stuart
Massey hit the ball too close to the keeper. Several minutes later Maidenhead
snatched the winner just minutes from the final whistle.
OK so we lost to Woking (again)
...but they are a Conference side - even if they their fans are a little
on the taciturn side. Report.
Thame inflict first Y2K league defeat
Whyteleafe are defeated at home to a well organised Thame side flying high
in the division. Match marks debut for Stuart Massie who came on as a sub
in the second half. Report.

Apologies
Sorry about that ghastly banner ad appearing at the top of this frame. This is the beastly work of FortuneCity for whom I had the utmost respect until they changed their banner arrangements. Banner-free webspace is in the process of being sought and any impending change of domain name will appear on this page.

Leafe in print
Whyteleafe's FA Cup match against Welling last year is the subject of a chapter in Charlie Connelly's book "London Fields - a journey through football's metroland". The piece is vaguely amusing and suggests that our shirts were sponsored by the Sunday Sport because of "the pair of tits that played in (our) defence". However, Mr Connelly did concede that out green and white quartered shirts were "rather fine". It's an entertaining book covering a number of non-league teams we have played in recent years as well as some womens' football and professional football all in and around London.
