So what makes this game so durable?
Well firstly the game is simple enough for a child of eight to learn, yet there is that subtle weave of strategy throughout
the game that can ensnare the older generations too. Secondly there's the tiles themselves, providing a variety of nasty and malicious
game play to disrupt and destroy your opponents' plans, while you quietly build yourself a circuit of tiles for your character to earn all
the gold you need to win as fast as possible. Thirdly there is the time factor, most games of Drakon take only 30-45 minutes! Allowing a
whole evening of beer fueled malicious gaming or, as i said before, to squeeze in as an opener or closer to a gaming day.
There isnt much wrong with this game, and though playing it nastily gets the most out of the game, friendlier games are just as much fun.
I have played this game friendly myself and enjoyed the experience very much, but with the expansion there has to be something said about
having a plan come together so that your arch enemies get eaten by old Drakon herself! :p
SUMMARY: No matter how you play this game, you only have so long to get your coins first and get out before the other players get their coins.
After all, Drakon will only allow one adventurer to escape, and noone wants to be locked in a dungeon with a hungry dragon :) This is a great family game
for all ages and perfect for all occasions. I know I keep saying that all these games are "real gems" but they honestly are and should be added to every gamers
collection as soon as possible. Drakon is just another "gem" to add to your shopping list and the expansion enriches the whole experience :)
