Publisher's Description:

The game sets out to reproduce the history of Britain up to the emergence of the recognisably modern kingdoms of England and Scotland in the mid eleventh century. Within a historically accurate framework, players have the chance to create the countries that might have been. An independant Wales, a Viking kingdom in Scotland, a Danish speaking Midlands or a Norman conquest that only conquered London!

It is difficult to do more than give a brief insight to this game, which reproduces the ebb and flow of entire nations across an island over 1000 years. Even if the names of Arthur, Offa, Alfred, canute, Harald Hardrada, and William the Bastard mean nothing to you, you will be gripped by the endless challenges which are thrown at you. Do you play cautiously and retreat to a highland area, easily defended, but capable of supporting a small population? Do you play boldly, and risk all on the throw of the die? Do you play carefully, in anticipation of the next wave of invading forces, seeking to limit their success at the cost of limiting your own?

The permutations are endless. Players will develop their preferred tactics, but there is no success formula. We can promise you sleepless nights and lost weekends as YOU try to discover how to win at BRITANNIA.
