In the beginning, there was the GT3 Nine Boards Challenge. The nine major GT3 forums got together and raced off to see who was the best. That was won by the House of GT.

And now there is the GT39B2. This time it suffers from a slight misnomer, in that there's actually 10 boards taking part. But hey, what are YOU going to do about it?

The Racers

Each of the 10 boards submitted 10 racers - some chosen from their mates (err, that'll be why I'M racing then), some others from race-offs on the forums. And here they are:

Bigten is a substitute driver for Sudracing. Didi, formerly the captain of gt.de, is a substitute driver for GTN, after illness forced Adelbertz out. Get well soon!

Time Submissions:

Time submissions are only accepted from people who've actually been chosen to race. But don't let me stop you from trying the races and see how you match up with the... ahem... best.

For those of you actually IN the series, you should know by now that time submissions are accepted only in the form of a Private Message to the GTN Admins at the GTNetwork board. Either submit the time yourself or, if you're not a member (why the f*ck not?) get your Captain to submit for you. Deadline is 6pm GMT on the given day.

For those in the series, time submissions must be backed up by a replay - either by Xport/Sharkport, or by sending your memory card to your nearest Replay Verifier after your two races are completed.

Races

Each forum also submitted one race. The idea is that two drivers from each board attempt each race - so that each driver runs two races. You can get a general idea of just how sadistic the boards are from their races:

Race 1: Arcade Mode, Normal (3 laps), Swiss Alps
Car: Mazda RX-7 Type RS
Modifications: Semi-racing Suspension, Sports Gearbox, Twin-Plate Clutch, Racing Flywheel, Full Customised LSD, Racing Muffler, ROM, Port Polish, Dirt Tyres, Turbo Stage 3, Racing Intercooler, Weight Reduction 1.
Settings: Any settings, but TCS and ASM must be off.
Notes: Sub-5 lap race. Must be 100% touch-free.

Car: Spoon S2000 Race Car
Modifications: Fully tuned
Settings: Any settings, but TCS and ASM must be off.

Modifications: Full-tuning, but with NA Stage 2 maximum - 309hp & 1014kg

Notes: Tyre wear is on. 10 lap race, so some wall touches/offs are permitted within reason.

NoQuarter was disqualified after some highly close scrutiny showed a microscopic wall touch. Bad luck mate.
Frustrated Palm Tree was given a "Did Not Finish", as he was unable to provide a replay due to breaking his Sharkport disc, then deleting the replay as he thought he had to submit only by Sharkport. Fool!
The entire granturismo.de team pulled out altogether because this race was too hard.

After race 5 it looks like it's a straight 4 way fight, with points being exchanged race-by-race between Racing-Line, GTWeb, GTN and GT3Times. GTPlanet are paying the price for four races with only 1 driver finishing, but can easily rein in the next three at the Numbers, GTPlay and GTF. Sudracing? Well, it looks like they're going to be 5th no matter what.
