If you must change other settings, keep them sensible. It's worth a note that whatever the value is in the .ini files, the value is inverted and one lower in mk's programme and in the game, as can be seen by these gear ratios:

A value of -3370 for reverse gear becomes a value of 3.369 in the programme and game. Similarly, if you're after a specific rear downforce of 1.75, you should enter the value of -176 on line 296 of the ini file. The purpose of each line in the ini file can be found in the help file contained in mk's programme (hit F1).
Fitting certain parts to your cars makes them more adjustable in the game. The Honda Integra Type-R full-racing gearbox has the greatest range of any of the boxes, and the C-West Razo Silvia suspension can be set anywhere from 45mm to 130mm.
Note that if you adjust the values outside the normal range in the ini file, adjusting them from the game itself will bring them back to within the normal parameters.
Go back to Grip.
Go on to Power.
