HORSE TEAMS
in TOAW
One small but tricky bit when it comes to designing scenarios and working on TOE:s is the question of horses. As we all know, all armies up until WW2 and many of them all through it, depended on horses for their transportation. The difficult part is, that you can often find very good TOE:s, which goes into the minutae of arms and vehicles, but gives no figures on the number of horses. And if you are making pre-1939 scensarios, there is bound to be alot of horses in almost all units.
As an aid, to help you see if you are either completely dead wrong, or at least in the right ball park, I have collated som info on horses in WW1 organizations, and even tried to "translate" them into TOAW terms, i.e. "Horse teams". And I have assumed that a horse team is 6 horses strong, but I may stand corrected.
