Sega Rally 2
Review

The Best Rally Game? SEGA RALLY 2!
Yes of "course" (terrible pun) it is!
SEGA RALLY! Ah, Sega Rally. Those were the days! One of the greatest Saturn and Arcade games of all time! It is a superb port of the arcade game (Sega Rally 2) and in some ways better! It's not just a straight port of the arcade version either it's almost had a complete makeover! For the European game some of the cars have been taken out and have had European cars in their place so it's more suitable to european gamers. The game's graphics have been updated for the Dreamcast version and at a great 50fps the sensation of speed is fantastic but, there is some slowdown during the race when you go round corners but the more you play the less you notice and it doesn't really annoy you.

The SUPERB Arcade mode!
As you'd expect since this is a port of an arcade game you'll have the standard arcade game and AM Annex haven't let you down and have given you the standard arcade mode with cars you didn't get in the arcade! Oh, and the arcade mode is still great and if you haven't played the arcade game here are the 4 courses:
Desert: This course is easy and shouldn't pose too difficult. This is the course to get used to the controls on dry gravel roads with easy corners. Gets you used to basic controls.
Mountain: Unlike the mountain course on the original this course is quite different. It is the first course that has a hairpin turn and with a few more challenging corners on dry tarmac roads. Gets you used to hairpin turns.
Snowy: This is probably the most challenging arcade course and with slippery roads and tight corners this will take a lot of practice to master. Gets you used to snowy roads and wintery conditions.
Riviera: On the last course you have 2 laps of the course to do and this is where you come 1st or runner up. Quite easy once you've practiced a few times and you will learn easily to accelerate out of the corners.

10 gruelling years!
In addition to the arcade mode we have the 10 year championship mode to ensure
lastability. You also get (to add realism) different weather effects! This changes the way you have to drive your car, meaning before you race you have to tweak the settings of the car (tyres, steering, suspension, male or female co-driver!?, etc.) to suit the track conditions.

Upload your BEST!
If you go to www.segarally.com you can upload your very best Arcade, 10 Year Championship and Time Attack mode times to the Net for everyone to see! Ah... Fame!

Practice, Practice, Practice!
If you are to succeed in Sega Rally 2 you must practice! Not only on the Arcade mode but on the 10 year championship too, to get all the cars so you can race with them as they are usually better than the cars you have in the first place. Once you win the 10th year you'll have an extra race against the Super fast Lancia 037 Rally (which the experts use) and that is the car that most people prefer in the game once they have it. If you think you are good upload your time to the Sega Rally 2 website for everyone all over the world to see! My BEST time is 4m 11s with the 037 Rally and you should be able to see it on the site now! The best time in Europe is 4m 1s which is very fast indeed!
