The Greatest Football Game Ever! "Nuff Sed!"
You may have read the review for Virtua Striker 2 in some games mags and not getting rave reviews like we all expected but, DON'T BELIEVE THEM!!! THEY ARE PROBABLY CASUAL GAMERS WHO PLAYED IT FOR 10 MINUTES AND GOT BEAT SO THEY DIDN'T PLAY IT ANY MORE!! But if you decide to play for more than 10 minutes and take the time to learn how to play it you will relise this: "This is GREAT!" And in my HUGE review of this GREAT game I will prove to you how good this is!


"Oh my God! The Graphics are too good. Are you sure this is a game and not a real match?"
The first thing you will probably notice about the game is the amazing graphics! Scotland and Liverpool fans will probably notice Gary McAllister playing for Scotland cos it looks just like him! You will also notice other stars like Jim Leighton the Scotland goalie. England fans will notice Beckam and Shearer in the England squad. You will also notice Ronaldo for Brazil! Others will notice the baldy French Keeper playing for "guess who!" France!
This all looks very impressive but when you see it in full motion and the fluid movement of the players you will be amazed but, there is some slowdown but the more you play the less you notice. Oh and if your TV is 60Hz compatible prepare to be even more amazed cos there is almost no slowdown at all!


Great Gameplay!
The gameplay on VS2 is great it is very easy to pick up and play! I have been playing this ever since I got it a few weeks ago! (That's how i haven't been updating the site recently!) The controls are digital only and the simple to use 4 button control system Pass, Long Pass, Shoot and Change Strategy are easy to understand so the aim of the game is to score goals and NOT spending all of the match trying wee shimmys, fancy flicks, nutmegs, etc. It's a bit hard to use the Digital D-pad if you have been using the analogue stick most of the time but you will eventually get used to it as the DC helps you control the players and you don't have to press in the exact direction to get the ball and their is less running round the ball a few times before getting it occuraces!


Great Goal! Superb Goal! Wonderful Goal! Cracking Goal! I must bore my friends to death with this goal!
Another superb thing about the great game is if you have a VMS you can save your best goal to the VM and show it to your freinds over and over and over and over etc. From every concievable angle! And the DC decide who's goal was best as it judges each goal with it's points system and gives it points depending on how skillful it was! Plus if you score a great goal that gets over 300+ points you get another stadium to show your skill in!


Crazy Squads!
There is also 3 teams that are very strange and crazy! First there is MVP Yuki-Chan! Their team consist of a turtle in goals, a snowman, a Polar Bear, 2 Mexican Band players, a few eskimos, a ghost, etc!
Next we have MVP ROYAL GENKI! Which consist of entirely of aliens and 2 that are different!
And last but not least FC SEGA! FC Sega consist of Sega excecutives running about the pitch trying to score a goal and one of their players with the Teddy around his arm keeps falling down if he runs with the ball for more than 2 seconds and he can't kick the ball right but when he scores a goal he does loads of Kung Fu moves as a celebration and another rips the corner flag out the ground! You play FC Sega once you go all the way through the arcade mode without using a continue!
To get Yuki-Chan press start on each of these teams Yugoslavia, Uraguay, Germany, Iran that spells Y-U-K-I you see and you will see Yuki-chan's emblem in the top left hand corner of the screen.
To play as Genki do the Yuki-Chan code then put the selecter over Yuki and hold start when selecting them.
To play as FC SEGA press start on these teams, France, Columbia, Spain, England, Germany, Argentina. That spells F-C-S-E-G-A obviously and their emblem will appear next to where yukichan's would be!


Sound info, my top 6 scores and Extra modes!
The Sound in the game is okay but the tackle sound is a bit annoying at first but you'll get used to it. The Crowd sound and music is fine though and the Mad Japanese guy shouting "GOOOOOAAAAALLLLL!" when you score is almost worth the asking price! Unfortunately there is no commentary.
The longevity of the game is boosted with the extra modes which include the standard Arcade mode, International Cup, League, Tournament, Ranking, Match Play and PK Match.
The results in the game are realistic with results like
1-0, 2-1, 1-1, 0-0, etc.
But sometimes you'll get big scores and here in reverse order is my top 6!
6. SCO 4 - PRY 1 League
3. SCO 4 - ITA 0 League
3. SCO 4 - YUG 0 Match Play
3. SCO 4 - ESP 0 Match Play
2. SCO 5 - USA 1 Int Cup Quart
But my best score (most English will hate me for this!) is...
1. SCO 5 - ENG 0 Int Cup Semi
But remember it's only a game!


The Game Overall!
The arcade mode is great and the extra modes add longevity to the game and the ability to save your best goal to a VMS is Excellent! If you want a great-flowing game of footie buy this! If you're after a more simulation style game don't.
